Race into Space for Linux

Race Into Space is a strategy game available for Linux that lets you experience the 1960s Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union.

In this game, you lead your country's space program by managing resources, designing space equipment, recruiting astronauts or cosmonauts, and planning space missions.

Your main goal is to be the first to land on the Moon and safely return your crew to Earth.

You can play as either the US Director or the USSR Designer.

This means you control your country’s space efforts by deciding what hardware to build and what missions to launch.

The game challenges you to make smart choices about technology, missions, and people to win the race.

Race Into Space is a modern version of an older DOS game called Buzz Aldrin’s Race Into Space, first released in 1993.

The new version works on Linux, Windows, and Mac.

While the original game used Buzz Aldrin’s name and images, these were removed in this version because the permissions were tied only to the first game.

The new game includes some updates and improvements to the original gameplay, and the game manual has been rewritten to help players understand the mechanics better.

This game is built and maintained by volunteers who enjoy space history and simulation.

It offers a safe and educational experience for players who like strategy games about space exploration.

If you want a thoughtful challenge that shows the struggles and excitement of the real Space Race, Race Into Space is a good choice for Linux users.
