NextGroove for Linux

NextGroove is a music player designed for Linux users who want to listen to songs stored on their Nextcloud accounts.

It works only if your Nextcloud instance has the Nextcloud Music app installed.

NextGroove connects safely using standard API tokens, which means it uses secure, official Nextcloud access methods instead of other streaming protocols like Subsonic or Ampache.

With NextGroove, you can explore your music in several ways.

You can browse by albums, see a full list of all songs, or go through your playlists.

When you find music you want to hear, you can add albums, playlists, or single tracks to a play queue.

This makes it simple to choose what plays next.

The player also supports basic MPRIS controls, so you can manage playback with common media keys and shortcuts on your Linux system.

One limitation is that NextGroove only allows basic playlist creation, and that has to come from the current play queue.

There are no advanced playback options or offline listening features available.

Also, album artwork downloads are supported, but any images shown in screenshots may be changed for copyright reasons.

Overall, NextGroove is a straightforward Linux app for anyone using Nextcloud Music, offering safe and direct access to personal music collections without unnecessary extras.
