Meine Ausweiskopie for Linux

Meine Ausweiskopie is a Linux-based tool designed to help you safely handle copies of German identity documents.

It lets you add watermarks and hide sensitive information on your documents, such as your ID card or passport, so you can share copies without revealing everything.

This software works with several types of German ID documents.

It supports temporary German ID cards printed on paper, regular German identity cards from all versions, and German passports issued in 2017 or later.

By adding watermarks and clearly marking the copies as duplicates, it helps prevent these documents from being used improperly.

One key feature is the ability to redact private details that your recipient does not need.

For example, you can black out the Card Access Number (CAN) or the ID number on your copy to keep that information secure.

This makes it easier to protect your privacy when sharing documents for official or personal reasons.

Meine Ausweiskopie is focused only on German identity documents and does not support files from other countries.

It also currently runs exclusively on Linux, with no information about other platforms.

There are no details provided about how easy the software is to use or what the user interface looks like, so some familiarity with Linux might help.

Overall, Meine Ausweiskopie is a useful tool for Linux users who want to safely share copies of their German IDs or passports while protecting sensitive data and showing clear proof that these are duplicates.

It fits well in office environments as a viewer and privacy tool for document handling.
