Nagstamon for Linux

Nagstamon is a system status monitor designed for Linux desktops.

It works by connecting to popular monitoring servers such as Nagios, Icinga, Centreon, Opsview, Op5 Monitor/Ninja, Check_MK Multisite, and Thruk.

This tool helps users keep track of the health and status of important hosts and services directly from their desktop.

Nagstamon offers several ways to display status information.

It can run in the system tray, appear as a floating status bar, or show a fullscreen view on the desktop.

These views provide quick summaries of critical alerts, warnings, unknown states, unreachable hosts, and down services.

When you move your mouse pointer over the display, a detailed status overview appears to give more information.

One useful feature is the ability to connect easily to the hosts and services shown.

Users can open SSH, RDP, or VNC sessions through the context menu.

It also supports custom actions, allowing flexible ways to manage connections and responses.

Filtering options help organize hosts and services by categories or patterns using regular expressions for efficient monitoring.

Nagstamon notifies users of important updates with sound alerts.

However, it does not mention other types of notifications such as email or pop-ups.

Also, the software runs only on Linux, so users on other platforms will not be able to use it.

The interface allows basic filtering but does not offer detailed customization options.

Overall, Nagstamon suits Linux users who want a desktop tool to monitor multiple systems remotely in a safe and clear way.

It provides quick access to host connections and status summaries without being too complex.
