Aqueducts for Linux

Hack your way to saving the day

Overview

Aqueducts is a game for Linux that helps you practice coding while solving puzzles.

In this game, your village has no water, and you need to fix that by connecting water pipes across 15 different levels.

Each level has puzzles where you "hack" objects like pipes, platforms, and bridges to make paths and bring water back to the village.

The main goal in Aqueducts is to connect all the pipes so water can flow.

You do this by hacking the pipes to rotate them.

Once the pipes are connected, a door appears.

To reach the door, you may have to hack other objects, changing their position or size.

Sometimes you can even change water between ice, liquid, and steam, but the water must be liquid to flow in the pipes.

Aqueducts teaches important coding ideas like variables, loops, conditionals, debugging, and JavaScript.

It also helps you practice logical thinking and problem-solving.

The game shows which objects can be hacked by highlighting them, and you can reset a level anytime without losing progress.

Controls are simple: tap to move your character Mateo, right-click on highlighted objects to hack them, and use buttons on-screen to pause, restart, or zoom.

Keep in mind, you will enjoy the puzzles more if you already know some coding.

Also, the game is available only for Linux.

The gameplay focuses on connecting pipes and hacking objects, which some players might find repetitive.

However, if you want to learn coding in a fun way on Linux, Aqueducts is worth trying.
